Concerned you have a leak, or simply looking to conduct a routine check in your home for leaks? Here's where to look:
Toilet leaks - Worn out valve seals can cause water to leak into the toilet bowl continuously and silently. To check for a toilet bowl leak, place some food coloring into the tank. If colored water shows up in the bowl after 10 minutes, you've got a leak. Additionally, make sure the handle is in good working condition.
Faucet leaks - Faucets are commonly the cause of a leak. In specific, rubber washers can often cause leaks.
Appliances - Check beneath appliances and the surrounding cabinetry to look for dripping or pooling water.
Monitor the water meter - Try turning off all water (faucets, appliances, sprinklers, etc.) and read your meter. After an hour or two, check the meter again. If the numbers change, this suggests a leak. This method can also be used to help determine if the leak is inside the house or in the water line outdoors.
If you identify a leak, take steps to fix the leak immediately. Even minor leaks can lose 90 gallons of water a day, which can have a significant impact on your water bill.

Occasionally, when performing service line repairs or a disconnection of service, it can be determined that a stop box is in need of repairs. Additionally, this can bring up questions regarding responsibility of service line and its appurtenances thereto. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions.

As summer draws to a close, it’s important to remember some key tips that will help keep the children safe and healthy throughout the school year.
•Leave the house early to prevent rushing.
•Obey school zone speed limits and follow your school’s drop-off procedures.
•ALWAYS stop for school buses that are loading and unloading children.
•NEVER pass a bus that has stopped.
•Bus riders: Remind your child to wait for the bus to stop before approaching it from the curb. Kids should always board and exit the bus at locations that provide safe access to the bus or to the school building. Make sure your child walks where they can see the bus driver (which means the driver will be able to see them, too)
•Bike Riders: Practice the bike route to school before the first day to make sure your child can manage it. Always stay on the right-hand side of the road and ride in the same direction as traffic. Make sure your child always wears a properly fitted helmet.
•Walkers: Make sure your child’s walk to school is a safe route. If your child will need to cross a street on the way to school, practice safe street crossing with them before the start of the school year.
