MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the City Council and the City staff, welcome to the City of Centerville’s official website!  We hope you will find this website helpful in learning about our community and to access City services and programs.

As your City government, we are committed to making sure Centerville is a safe place to live, work and play, ensuring that our community is clean, fostering new growth and development while maintaining the progress of the past.  We also are committed to doing all this in the most efficient and fiscally responsible manner possible.

Like other communities, Centerville faces numerous challenges.  The mandated upgrades and improvements at our wastewater plants will be a huge project that will span the next several years.  Maintaining our streets with reduced manpower and funds will be difficult, but will remain a priority for the City Council.  And bringing jobs to Centerville, in addition to retaining the ones already here, will also be at the top of our list of priorities.  We will work hard to attract new businesses, large and small, commercial, industrial and retail, to our community in order to provide working opportunities to our citizens who need jobs.

In order for Centerville to grow, we as citizens should work together to ease the differences in our community to ensure a healthy and stable future for all of our residents.  No government can do it all alone; we need the help of our citizens.

All of us – the Mayor, City Council and City employees - are committed to serving our citizens with professional and timely service.  The City’s Mission Statement reads:  “The Centerville City Government will provide the leadership to unite all who share a vested interest in the excellence of our community.  By learning from our history, preserving our heritage, and addressing the needs of an ever-changing lifestyle, our efforts are to enhance the total community.”  These are just a handful of words but they will be the guiding force that keeps your City government on a progressive path.
